Introduction:
Don Norman is one of the most important proponents of "human-centered design" world-wide. He is also one of the key contributor of "User Experience Design (UX design)" which connects design with computing sciences. Almost every designer reads his books on design, especially The Design of Everyday Things. He is widely regarded for his expertise in the fields of design, usability engineering, and cognitive science. Business Week has listed him as one of the world's 27 most influential designers. He was elected as Member of National Academy of Engineering in USA, and he also got Sir Misha Black Medal from RCA.

Jury Citation:
For his contribution both in the industry and academic, for his advocacy of user-centered design, a term he introduced, and for furthering the field of design, from doors to computers, to user experience and sustainability, for his never-stop sprit of exploring the new territory of design.
